Edge of the World

Arctic wilderness landscape
I
Day 1 — Arrival

Welcome to Silence

Your private transfer arrives at dusk. Our lodge steward greets you with a warm cloudberry elixir and a briefing on the week's aurora forecast. The expedition begins at nightfall.

II
Day 2 — The Hunt

Aurora Vigil

Led by our aurora meteorologist to a pre-selected clearing with unobstructed sky. Camp chairs, a crackling fire, and thermoses of Nordic herbal tea. Then — the sky fractures open.

III
Day 3 — Depth

The Ice Cathedral

A full day inside a private glacier system. Lunch in a natural ice chamber. An afternoon of photography. A Saami ceremonial fire in the evening, guided by an indigenous elder.

IV
Day 4 — Farewell

Dawn Departure

A final breakfast as the first light turns the horizon amber. Each guest receives a bespoke print of their most extraordinary aurora photograph. Some return every season.

Words from the
Night Sky

"

I have stayed at Aman, I have visited Necker Island, I have dined in a Michelin kitchen suspended over the Amalfi. Nothing — and I mean nothing — has ever stolen my breath the way that sky did. Borealis understands something most luxury brands have forgotten: that true awe cannot be purchased. It can only be witnessed.

My partner and I came for our tenth anniversary. We are not sentimental people. We left the Aurora Pod in tears. The way the lights moved above us — emerald, violet, white — as we lay in that glass bed together... there are no adjectives sufficient. Borealis gave us a night we will carry for the rest of our lives.

As a professional travel photographer, I have chased the aurora across seven countries. The difference with Borealis is their guides. They anticipated where the corona would appear forty minutes before it did. We were perfectly positioned. I came away with the defining image of my career. They are not a lodge. They are a co-conspiracy with the sky.
