The world's most private address
SANCTUM is not a club one joins — it is a world one is welcomed into. A sanctuary for those who shape culture, commerce, and civilization across twelve global cities.
Founded in 1887 by a coterie of statesmen, artists, and industrialists who believed that true civilization demanded a space beyond the ordinary — SANCTUM was conceived as a refuge for minds of consequence.
Over thirteen decades, we have hosted prime ministers and poets, Nobel laureates and philanthropists, each bound by a single covenant: the pursuit of excellence and the cultivation of meaningful connection.
"SANCTUM is where the world's most interesting people become the world's most interesting friends."
— Lord Alistair Pemberton, Founding Patron, 1887Today, across twelve cities on five continents, SANCTUM remains what it has always been: the world's most private, most purposeful, and most distinguished gathering place.
Each tier represents a distinct relationship with SANCTUM — a considered level of access, privilege, and belonging.
Every space within SANCTUM has been designed to inspire thought, encourage discourse, and provide the conditions under which truly extraordinary exchanges occur. Each room carries its own character — shaped by decades of use by extraordinary minds.
SANCTUM's calendar is curated with singular intention: to bring the finest minds into conversation with the finest ideas. Each event is an invitation to participate in something that matters.
In thirty years of business across four continents, no institution has opened more doors — or introduced me to more remarkable people — than SANCTUM. It is, quite simply, irreplaceable.
SANCTUM understands something that most institutions have forgotten: that the quality of conversation depends entirely on the quality of the company. Here, both are exceptional.
I have been a Patron for nineteen years. What SANCTUM provides is not merely a club — it is a perspective. A constant reminder that the world is made by those who dare to think differently.
Membership of SANCTUM is extended by invitation and by application. All applications are reviewed by our Membership Committee, which meets quarterly.
