The Art of Slow Making

Meditative Process

Each piece begins in silence. Our embroiderers enter a state of focused calm before the first needle is threaded, allowing mindfulness to flow into every stitch and knot.

Heirloom Quality

We use only the finest 100% silk threads, Japanese needles, and archival linen grounds. Every material is chosen to last centuries, not seasons.

Narrative Thread

Every commission carries a story. We collaborate intimately with each client to weave personal symbols, botanical motifs, and familial heritage into enduring textile art.

A Studio of Sacred Craft

Nestled in a converted Victorian workshop, the BRODERIE atelier is a place where time slows and intention quickens. Morning light filters through linen curtains onto frames of stretched silk, and the only sound is the whisper of thread through cloth.

Our four master embroiderers each bring decades of training in European goldwork, Japanese Sashiko, and French Broderie Anglaise. The studio accepts only twenty commissions each season to ensure the absolute devotion each piece deserves.

"We do not make things quickly. We make things forever."
Discover Our Story

From Concept to Creation

Every commission passes through four sacred stages of creation, each as deliberate and considered as the next.

I

Consultation

A deep conversation about vision, heritage, and intent. We listen before we draw, ensuring the final piece resonates with profound personal meaning.

II

Design & Transfer

Our artisans draft the pattern by hand, then transfer it to museum-grade linen using archival methods. No digital shortcuts — only pencil and practiced eye.

III

The Stitching

Thread by thread, the design emerges. Depending on complexity, a single piece may require 200 to 800 hours of focused needlework across several months.

IV

Framing & Delivery

Finished works are mounted on conservation-grade stretchers, framed under museum glass, and delivered with a provenance certificate of authenticity.

Words from Those Who Wait

"The bridal veil BRODERIE created for my daughter's wedding was beyond anything I could have imagined. It has already become a family heirloom we will pass through generations. The craftsmanship is breathtaking."

— Constance P., London, United Kingdom

"I commissioned a wall piece incorporating my grandmother's garden and my late mother's initials. What arrived six months later reduced me to tears. BRODERIE understood everything I could not say out loud."

— Yuki T., Kyoto, Japan

"As a couture house, we have collaborated with many artisan studios. BRODERIE stands utterly apart. Their silk shading technique gives fabric a luminosity that no digital method can replicate. An irreplaceable creative partner."

— Maison Aurel, Paris, France

"The wait is the experience. When my commission arrived after nine months, I understood what patience truly means. Every hour of work is visible in the piece. It is not decoration — it is devotion."

— Henrik M., Stockholm, Sweden
