ARBORIS STUDIO — Handcrafted Furniture
Our Philosophy

Rooted in wood.
Guided by craft.

"We do not race against time.
We work with it."

Every piece that leaves our countryside workshop carries the memory of the forest it came from. We work with sustainably sourced hardwoods, chosen for character over convenience, shaped by hand tools and quiet patience.

Arboris — from the Latin arbor, tree — reflects our commitment to a living relationship between maker, material, and home.

Slow Making
No production lines. Each piece receives weeks of individual attention from a single craftsperson.
Living Wood
We source from certified forests and reclaimed estates. The grain tells a story — we preserve it.
Joinery Mastery
Traditional mortise-and-tenon, dovetail, and wedge joints. No hidden screws, no shortcuts.
Heirloom Finish
Hand-rubbed oils and waxes that deepen over time. A piece for generations, not seasons.

Every piece begins
with a conversation.

We take on a limited number of commissions each year. Each starts with listening — your space, your daily rituals, the wood species you're drawn to.

Workshop Process

From tree to room.

Our process honours the material at every stage. We do not rush the wood — we follow it. The timeline for a single piece ranges from 8 to 24 weeks depending on complexity and curing requirements.

01
Design Consultation
We begin with conversation — your space, your needs, your aesthetic sensibility. Sketches, samples, and material references follow.
02
Timber Selection
You are invited to our yard to select the exact boards that will become your piece. Every knot, ray, and figure chosen together.
03
Drying & Preparation
Freshly milled timber must acclimatise. We air-dry in our seasoning store, then kiln-finish for dimensional stability.
04
Joinery & Assembly
Hand-cut mortise-and-tenon, wedged through-tenons, dovetails. Glue-up and test-fit before any finish is applied.
05
Finishing
Multiple coats of natural Danish oil, hand-rubbed carnauba wax, or bespoke lacquer — matched to your environment and lifestyle.
06
White-Glove Delivery
We deliver and install every piece ourselves. Final placement, levelling, and care guidance given in person at your home.
