BOREAS

Glacial cold therapy — where the arctic heals the body, stills the mind, and restores the soul

★ Arctic Wellness ★

The Healing Power of Ice and Stone

Nestled at the edge of the Arctic Circle, BOREAS was founded on the ancient Nordic belief that cold purifies — that submersion in glacial waters awakens the body's deepest healing mechanisms.

Our mineral-rich springs rise from beneath the glacial bedrock, filtered over centuries through layers of crystalline stone, emerging perfectly balanced in mineral composition and temperature.

Each ritual at BOREAS is a journey through contrasts: the searing warmth of geothermal steam, the electric shock of arctic immersion, and the profound stillness that follows.

Core Principles

The Arctic Method

Glacial Cold Therapy

Controlled immersion in near-freezing glacial waters triggers the body's adaptive response — reducing inflammation, accelerating recovery, and elevating mood through endorphin release.

Mineral Immersion

Our geothermal pools contain 82 naturally occurring minerals — magnesium, silica, sulphur — each absorbed through the skin during extended soaking at precise thermal gradients.

Thermal Contrast

The ancient Norse practice of alternating extreme heat and cold — expanding and contracting blood vessels — creates a powerful cardiovascular and lymphatic flush unlike any other wellness modality.

Guest Experiences

From Those Who Have Returned

"Three days at BOREAS reset something fundamental in my nervous system. The glacial immersion on the first morning was terrifying — by the third, it was the most alive I have ever felt."

Ingrid V.
Wellness Retreat Guest, Stockholm

"The mineral composition of the BOREAS springs is unlike anything I've encountered in 20 years of spa work. My skin stayed luminous for three weeks after returning. Extraordinary."

Dr. Maren K.
Dermatologist & Wellness Physician, Oslo

"I've visited Reykjavik's geothermal pools, Japan's onsen, and the Dead Sea. BOREAS transcends them all — it is not just a spa, it is a philosophy of renewal made physical."
