The Bebop Revolution

Born in the smoky clubs of 1940s Harlem, bebop shattered the rules. Complex harmonies, blazing tempos, and virtuosic improvisation — this is where modern jazz began. Parker, Gillespie, and Monk rewrote the language of music.

Frequently Asked

Everything you need to know before your first visit to the Blue Note underground.

Do I need a reservation?

+
For weekend performances (Friday and Saturday), we strongly recommend reservations as we often reach capacity. Weeknight shows are generally walk-in friendly, but reserving guarantees your preferred seating. You can book through our website, by phone, or via the concierge desk. Vinyl listening sessions are always first-come, first-served.

Is there a dress code?

+
We maintain a smart casual atmosphere. Think dark jeans, collared shirts, cocktail attire, or your favorite vintage look. No athletic wear or flip-flops, please. Jazz has always been about expressing yourself — dress the part and feel the vibe.

Can I bring my instrument for the jam sessions?

+
Absolutely! Our late-night jam sessions (typically after midnight on Fridays) welcome all musicians. We provide a house drum kit, upright bass, and piano. Bring your horn, guitar, or voice and sign up with the bandleader. All skill levels are welcome — the only requirement is respect for the music and your fellow players.

How does the vinyl listening room work?

+
Our listening room houses over 3,000 vinyl records spanning the full history of jazz. Browse the stacks, select an album, and our staff will set it up on one of our three custom turntable stations. Each station has vintage tube amplifiers and hand-built speakers. Sessions run 45 minutes and include a complimentary drink. Available daily from 5 PM.

Can I book the venue for a private event?

+
Yes! We offer private hire for up to 80 guests. Our space is perfect for corporate events, birthday celebrations, album release parties, and intimate gatherings. Packages include a dedicated bartender, curated live music, and custom cocktail menus. Contact us at events@bluenote.club for availability and pricing.
